Topic: Role of IT & BIM in Facilities Management

Mr Chris LinningOn the 15th of October, we were welcomed by guest lecturer Mr Chris Linning who is a manger of building information at the Sydney Opera House. Within Mr Linning’s presentation, he confined to us information relating to examples of technology used within the Opera House, the steps within developing a building, the use of BIM within the new VAPS project at the Opera House and the use of BIM within improving the efficiency and reliability of facilities management. It seems the concept of saving theb est for last was evident in this case, Mr Linning provided a passionate and interesting presentation that was generous in information and heavily enhanced my interest in BIM.
